Fundraising Faces of F5m

Australia Day Honours To
Our F5m Champions

F5m supporters Roy and Carol Langsford both received an OAM in the 2009 Australia Day honours list in recognition for their services to people with MS through the establishment and development of the Trish MS Research Foundation. Through their tireless dedication they have raised over $1.6 million for MS research.

On behalf of F5m, we want to pass on our congratulations to you both for finally receiving recognition of the highest order for your dedication to finding the cause and a cure for MS.

Oh! What a night

Rio Carnivale in Melbourne

An amazing $147,000 was raised through the tremendous hardwork and effort of Lina Marrocco OAM (top left) and her committee of volunteers which includes Bridie Murphy (right). With a packed house of 600 attending the gala event and being thoroughly entertained by the live entertainment and Helen Razer who agreed to MC the event at short notice.

MS Research loses its hugely loved champion

MS Research loses a great man in Ian Ballard

Our deepest sympathies and love go out to Ian Ballard's family after his tragic and untimely death. Ian was an extraordinary man whose unstinting efforts to raise funds for multiple sclerosis research led to the creation of Foundation 5 Million (F5m). But F5m is not just a fundraising body.

In three short years since our creation, we have become a family, to support each other through the tough times we encounter with this devastating disease Ian fought so courageously to find a cure for.  The MS and broader community has lost a dearly loved friend, an inspirational champion of our cause and someone who always puts a smile on your face. Vale Ian.

Crystal Ball brings Trish Foundation to $1.6 million total!

In one of his first public appearances since losing the Liberal leadership, Dr Brendan Nelson attended the annual Trish MS Research Foundation Ball on Saturday September 20.

As Patron of the Foundation, Dr Nelson spoke movingly of Trish Langsford, the young woman whose struggle with MS was the impetus for her parents to establish the Foundation.

NSW Opposition Leader, Barry O'Farrell was also in attendance.
Held at Darling Harbour Convention Centre, MCs for the night were Amanda Keller and Brendan Jones from the WS FM morning show.

More than 500 people attended the event and their support brought the total of funds raised by the Foundation since it began fundraising in 2001 to over $1.6million.

Thank you for visiting the Foundation 5 Million website

There are approximately 20,000 people in Australia who have MS and this number is growing by 1,000 per year.

The primary concern for all of these people is to find a cure for MS -
no matter how advanced or serious their condition is.

You or someone you know may have been recently diagnosed with MS, or been living with MS for sometime, in the workforce and leading a normal lifestyle.

Foundation 5 Million (F5m) is your opportunity as a person with MS or someone in the MS community (families, friends, carers, workmates) to make a contribution to the quest to find a cure for MS through research.
